Dr. Jim Loehr, world renowned performance psychologist and best-selling author, trained more #1 athletes than any other individual. The famed IMG was modeled after Dr. Loehr’s Performance Institute. I was privileged to attend his facility in Orlando on three different occasions. I believe that proper nutrition and exercise is key to attaining any major accomplishment whether its sports or in business. Managing energy, not time, is the key to high performance and personal renewal. A few points stick in my mind that I would like to share:
—Eat 5 small meals per day. Breakfast is the most important meal.
—Drink at least 6 glasses of water per day.
—Try to work out vigorously for 30 minutes each day.
—Do not smoke, drink more than two glasses of alcohol/day or eat fried food.
—Avoid fast food and junk foods with high sugar content.
—Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.
—Go for an annual physical.
—Work out with weights at least three times per week.
—Take a mini vacation every 90 minutes by just closing your eyes or standing up and stretching while working or studying for extended periods of time.
