Interesting article in Investors Business Daily talking about the power of having purpose and passion. The top CEO's all have it as well as the top professional athletes. Having those two ingredients will provide you curiosity, it will boost stamina, help you stay focused and lift your goals. Passion amplifies productivity because your tasks will be viewed as fun not work. Think about the time you fell in love. You had purpose and passion. You could stay up to the wee hours of the night talking even if you had to get up early. Then when you woke, you were not [...]

John Hayden wrote an incredible book titled, "The 21 Irrefutable Truths Of Trading." While I am only 20% through the book, he had a section that speaks to beliefs, virtues and vices. He specifically targets how confidence and discipline plays an important part in being successful in the market. More so than trading systems, newsletters, etc. Here is what he said about changing physiology to gain total confidence. "If you want to change your physiology so that it is totally confident, then ask yourself a question."Can I remember a time that I had total certainty that I could accomplish any task? [...]
How many times have you seen people who fail to finish strong because they know they are soon finished with a job, school, work-out, etc. Sometimes that extra 5 minutes you give your project after you've decided to quit kicks you into a strange new gear....a powerful new zone. This doesn't happen all the time, and when it doesn't, you've lost nothing. Just quit after those 5 minutes. But....it happens ENOUGH to really surprise you that you had so much more to give, and you had energy left you didn't know you had. You thought you were too tired to go [...]

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain! I don't want to assume that I'm always going to be in the same state of mind, and that I'm always going to be inspired, even that I'm always going to remember what I'm up to. I don't want to assume that. So I need to advertise back to myself what I'm up to. What's my goal? What am I here to achieve? And so I use all kinds of little things. I put sayings up where I can see them. Or, [...]
"It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." ---- Albert Einstein Einstein identifies something powerful here. The source of his genius. Absolute focus. Absolute focus is the key to all great human achievement. Its opposite, preoccupation, is the enemy of all achievement. Write this thought down, because it can change your life: Preoccupation is the enemy of all achievement. In any activity, preoccupation is the enemy. It's true with cooking, driving, golfing, gardening, painting, anything. Taking ownership is the highest form of focus: It's a willingness to bring everything you've got to a situation. To [...]
What people "think" they are yearning for is to have the externals in their lives change: other people, outside circumstances, more money, romance, better behavior from their children, etc. However, what they discover if they look deep enough that outside changes make no inside change, and no matter how circumstances change, it's the inside that matters. When I can shift my yearning from changing others to changing myself, then I start becoming happy. Happiness grows from the inside out, but only always. Thanks for making me grow each day!
Everyone who has ever had a friend knows how to sell. How you are with your friend is how to sell. Period. No other training necessary. You are now selling like a master. All the humor, all the giving and all the straight talk that shows up in friendship is also what works best in selling. All the candor, all the joy, and all the reality of being you is what sells and sells and sells. The absolutely fearless conversations of close friendships, and the sincere promises made and kept in friendship, also happen with the best sales relationships. If a [...]
The route to helping anyone is by working on myself and having my life be more inspiring for people. They want to see it. They don't want to hear what's wrong with them. They want it to be their idea to change. As Ghandi once said, "Don't change other people. Be the change you wish to see in other people."
My Advice for Graduating Millennials Written by Savannah Marie, Community Blogger | May 9, 2014 8:50 AM imgComments : 0 It’s around this time of year that I turn into a sentimental fool over being a college graduate. After all, last year during this time I was listening to the Dalai Lama speak words of wisdom to my graduating class at the superdome in New Orleans. It was one of the most profound and surreal moments of my life. Truly nothing compares to a Mardi Gras-style graduation complete with beads, umbrellas, and fireworks. Dr. John and Allen Toussiant, two Grammy Award-winning [...]
